Can you superglue a denture back together?
When a denture snaps, the superglue in the kitchen drawer looks like a quick fix. We understand why, but please do not. Here is why.

It is not made for your mouth
Household glue is not meant to be in your mouth or near food. It can irritate your gums, and it breaks down in saliva, so the join does not last.
The pieces rarely line up
A denture has to fit your gums exactly. Glue sets in seconds, and even a tiny gap or step where the pieces meet changes how it sits. That can mean rubbing, sore spots and a bite that feels wrong.
It makes a proper repair harder
Before we can repair a glued denture, the glue has to come out of the break. If the pieces were glued out of line, it is much harder to get them back to where they belong.
What about denture repair kits?
Pharmacy kits are meant as a stop gap at most. A proper repair in a lab, with the same acrylic your denture is made from, is stronger and fits better.
What to do instead
Keep every piece in a clean bag, leave the denture out, and bring it in. Most repairs at our Motherwell clinic are ready in under an hour, so you are not without it for long.
